Keep It Simple

Successful multi-level marketers will tell you that the key factor to success in MLM is simplicity. They have carried on the K.I.S.S. principle of Keep It Simple, Sweetie/Stupid/Sucker - you name it, they tell you to keep it easy and straightforward. Multi-level marketing is a very easy business.

By easy, that means that the concepts are not that hard to absorb. When people think easy, they think that means little work. However, by easy, MLM opportunities still require the sales associate to work the business. Those who fail in MLM are shocked when they find out that the reason for their failure is their lack of tenacity, work ethic and determination to make it work. So, instead, they will blame the company or opportunity.

The way to success with multi-level marketing is in keeping the idea that work is involved. Work can come in many forms including learning, prospecting, selling the product or service, follow-up and self-study. While most multi-level marketing organizations are designed to be easy to follow, the success is dependant upon the recruit’s ability to imitate and learn from those who have gone before them.

Every thing involved in a good multi-level marketing program is easy enough to grasp. However, most concepts must be performed again and again in order to find success and happiness at the other end. If the recruit can learn to duplicate their efforts, the results will be phenomenal as long as they are following the blueprint that the MLM business model has created.

Reinventing the wheel is the second biggest factor in the success or failure of associates’ efforts. If the associate takes the blueprint and tries to do things that are out of line with what has been repeatedly proven to be successful, then this may lead to ultimate failure.

In multi-level marketing, the bottom line is that a sales associate should never try to go it alone. First of all, it’s unnecessary. Secondarily, it can lead to failure and frustration. There should be no special skills involved in getting the business up and running. Resources should be available that allow the sales associate to both promote and recruit others with a minimum of work and creation of promotional materials. This separates the good MLM companies from those that don’t support their representatives. Keep in mind that good support is the key to a successful business.

Sticking to the multi-level marketing blueprint is also part of it, but not all. Having the right mindset to seize opportunity when it presents itself and stay in a state where learning comes easily and naturally.
