Stop Recruiting and Start Talent Scouting

It is a known fact that any multi-level marketing thrives on the number of their distributors.  These distributors are the bloodline of any multi-level marketing business. So, what we do is recruit, recruit, and recruit more downlines believing that more you recruit the better.

In adding a downline into your network always remember the saying:

Quality always exceeds the quantity.

If you really want to become very successful in this business, you have to develop the habit of becoming a talent scout, rather than just recruiting machine. They start harassing people in line at events. Friends and relatives are called up even if they’re totally not interested

Most of the beginners in MLM business start out being a recruiter. Everyone they see or run into was a prospect. No matter whom they were or what sort of attitude they had. A recruiter is determined to RECRUIT every single person they see or talk.  This method may be successful in the short term, and then it just dies into its natural death.

Why? Well, that is because recruiters just simply recruit and that’s it.  They talk and persuade people into joining with them, even when these people don’t really want to, and most of the time recruiters become very annoying. In other words, the people say yes when they really mean no just to get you off from their back.  So what eventually happens is that the majority of people usually end up quitting because they didn’t have what it takes to succeed in this kind of business in the first place. Most times the recruiter does not stick around long enough to train them or show them how to do the business. He or she is to busy recruiting their next victim.

Most of the recruiters are just good at being a recruiter. They may not be very good trainers, leaders or just don’t have time to train because they are so busy recruiting.   The recruiter usually doesn’t take the time to actually get to know a person or even ask them what they are interested in. What are a prospective recruits goals are or what sort of talents they even have is important. All they want is the sign up, without realizing that their newly signed-up downline is just another stagnant, unproductive name in the structure.

What you have to do is change this dynamic?  The solution is to stop being a recruiter, and start being a talent scout.  A talent scout doesn’t rush into recruiting; they take time, they talk a little and listen more.

Talent scouts don’t just approach anybody they came across and ask them to be a part of their company.  Being a talent scout means you have to be selective, keep your eyes and ears open for those people who have the talent, drive and hunger to change their lives.  Look for the people that are highly motivated, and are individuals who have a winning attitude.  Look for ordinary people that can do ordinary things extraordinarily well!

If you really want to become very successful in MLM business, you have got develop the quality of becoming a talent scout, rather than just a recruiting machine!

What a MLM Team Leader Can Learn From a Sports Team

Several studies have been conducted to successful sports team like football, soccer, basketball and hockey and have found to have a number of elements that successful sports teams have that can be extrapolated to a successful work teams like multi-level marketing team.  These are the lessons that an MLM Team leader could learn from a sports team.

Successful teams integrate strong spirit of cooperation and healthy competition.

Effective team coaches get athletes to help one another but also push one another to perform at their best.  Sports teams with the best win-loss record have coaches who promoted strong spirit of cooperation and a high level of healthy competition among player.  I would like to emphasize the healthy competition this would mean you should not jeopardize your teammate to gain an edge.

Winning teams have a stable membership.

Stability improves performance.  A study on a professional basketball team was conducted and found out that the more stable a team’s membership, the more likely the team is to win.  The more teammates have together, the more able they are to anticipate one another’s move and have clearer understanding on their role.

This implies that MLM team that have stable members tend to solidify more as the time goes by.  Each member of the team, both the upline and downline, has clearer understanding of each others goals and work harmoniously.

Successful teams use half-time breaks.

The best coaches in the basketball and football use half-time during the game to reassess what is working and what isn’t.  As MLM leader/manager you should similarly create an assessment to the groups’ performance to assess whether the approach being used at the moment is working or not.  On this way, you can evaluate what are the things needed to improve.

Practice makes perfect.

Successful sports teams execute on the day of the game but learn from their mistakes and develop new skills during practice.  Practice should be use to try new things and fail.  A successful MLM team leader should not be afraid to try novel ideas and new approaches.  Train downlines and provide opportunities to practice what they have been learned.

Successful teams debrief after failures and successes.

The best sports teams study the game video.  They examine the mistakes and take notes of the success.  Similarly, a MLM team needs to take time to reflect on both their successes and failures and to learn from them.  Reflecting on what factors that bring their success are and what those that fails.

The Key Factors In Building A Successful MLM Business

Succcessful multi-level marketers will tell you that the key factor to success in MLM is simplicity. They  have carried on the K.I.S.S. priniciple of Keep It Simple, Sweetie/Stupid/Sucker - you name it, they tell you to keep it easy and straightforward. Multi-level marketing is a very easy business.

By easy, that means that the concepts are not that hard to absorb. When people think easy, they think that means little work. However, by easy, MLM opportunities still require the sales associate to work the business. Those who fail in MLM are shocked when they find out that the reason for their failure is their lack of tenacity, work ethic and determination to make it work. So, instead, they will blame the company or opportunity.

The way to success with multi-level marketing is in keeping the idea that work is involved. Work can come in many forms including learning, prospecting, selling the product or service, follow-up and self-study. While most multi-level marketing organizations are designed to be easy to follow, the success is dependant upon the recruit’s ability to imitate and learn from those who have gone before them.

Every thing involved in a good multi-level marketing program is easy enough to grasp. However, most concepts must be performed again and again in order to find success and happiness at the other end. If the recruit can learn to duplicate their efforts, the results will be phenomenal as long as they are following the blueprint that the MLM business model has created.

Reinventing the wheel is the second biggest factor in the success or failure of an associates efforts. If the associate takes the blueprint and tries to do things that are out of line with what has been repeatedly proven to be successful, then this may lead to ultimate failure.

In multi-level marketing, the bottom line is that a sales associate should never try to go it alone. First of all, it’s unnecessary. Secondarily, it can lead to failure and frustration. There should be no special skills involved in getting the business up and running. Resources should be available that allow the sales associate to both promote and recruit others with a minimum of work and creation of promotional materials. This separates the good MLM companies from those that don’t support their representatives. Keep in mind that good support is the key to a successful business.

Sticking to the multi-level marketing blueprint is also part of it, but not all. Having the right mindset to seize opportunity when it presents itself and stay in a state where learning comes easily and naturally.

The Power Is In Your Downline

The main reason that people shy away from multi-level marketing schemes is because of the simple fact that you are working to help someone else get rich. Technically, you are not only helping the person directly above you, but you are also helping several other people that are a number of levels above that as well.

That doesn’t really make matters better in that case but you need to realize that there is actually a bigger and better picture. The main question you need to ask your self is not whether you are willing to help them, but whether you are willing to help yourself. At first you might think that that statement is there to fool you into buying into the whole MLM system, but the reality of it all is that you should not care about who is above and how much they are earning. You need to be concerned about who is BELOW you, and how much YOU are earning!

The beauty of the multi-level marketing system is that once you reach a certain point, you no longer need to do any work. Everyone that is beneath you does it all for you and you sit back and earn a pay check each month for little or no work. You may want to refer back to the whole “working to make other people rich” thing, but once again if you have the insight that it is the people below you that count and not the ones above, then you are already well on your way to earning some serious money from which ever MLM scheme you decide to use.

Once you fully understand the implications of the business system and you know how to make it work for you, then who really cares how much money those people are making. What matters is that nice sum of cold hard cash that gets deposited into your bank account each month, and you barely even have to break a sweat to get it.

Before you turn your head away from any MLM business that is presented to you. Consider the primary fact that you are being given an opportunity to earn some serious money on an ongoing basis.

You just have to give it the time and dedication that it deserves and you’ll meet lots of interesting people, save yourself money on products you would normally buy in a store, and earn enough money to live the life you want.
